Flo vs Modu: Plain-English Discord AI Compared

Compare Flo and Modu, two plain-English Discord AI bots. Flo has 5 free AI uses a week. Modu's AI needs a paid plan from $9 a month.

Flo, the AI Discord bot, and Modu both let you describe a change in plain English and approve the plan before it runs. The difference is the price of entry: Modu's pricing page lists its Free plan with no AI credits and "no moderation, no agent," and its cheapest paid plan is Starter at $9 a month for about 20 requests. Flo gives every server 5 AI uses a week for free, and its free plan includes moderation, automod, tickets, welcome, logging, custom commands, YouTube and Twitch alerts and reaction roles. Flo Pro is $5.99 a month. Flo's Pro and Ultra plans also add Compromised Account Protection, which Modu does not list. Pick Modu if you want leveling, giveaways, a server audit with a health score, or undo history, which Flo does not match.

We make Flo, so read this knowing that. Modu details come from modu.ubits.tech, its pricing page and its discordbotlist.com listing, checked October 27, 2026. If something here is out of date, tell us in the support server and we will fix it.

Where Modu is ahead

Modu records the previous state of each change so reversible work can be rolled back, and it runs a server audit that returns a health score with suggested fixes. Its bot also lists leveling with rank cards, giveaways, a starboard, birthdays, ban appeals, invite tracking and suggestions, none of which Flo has. It can also work across Slack and WhatsApp, though both are labelled early access.

How to switch from Modu to Flo

  1. Add Flo to your server and leave Modu running while you set Flo up.
  2. In Modu, turn off the features Flo will replace, such as moderation, tickets and welcome messages, so the two bots do not both act on the same message or member.
  3. Move Flo's role near the top of your role list, then turn on Flo's security first: anti-nuke, anti-raid, automod and, on Pro and Ultra, Compromised Account Protection.
  4. Move features over one at a time, such as tickets, welcome messages, logging and reaction roles, using /flo or the dashboard.
  5. Remove Modu once Flo covers what you used. Keep it if you rely on its leveling, giveaways or audit.
